“A lot of people are calling on him to run but he is still dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s and at the appropriate time, Mr. President will certainly declare his intention and we are asking him to please run because he has done more good to this country than any government that ever ruled,” Mr. Adewale stated. While explaining delay in the President’s official announcement, he pointed out that there was no date for anybody under the constitution to declare his intention. “We are still within the period and that is what we talk about in governance. In PDP, we consult widely before decisions are taken,” he said. The journalist-turned-politician admitted that the JMG was a pressure group whose focus was to ensure election victory for Mr. Jonathan. “I am the National Secretary of the Board of Trustee of Jonathan Mandate Group. As the name implies,we are pressure group working for the return of Mr President in 2015. We are a group of people that believe in his works. We are a group that believes in what he has done for Nigeria and ourselves. Many other teaming Nigerians are members of the group working for the realisation of this project. That is what the group is doing and we are sensitising the people across Nigeria on what the President is doing and what he can still do if allowed to run again” he said.
