Gov. Amaechi arrested, detained by soldiers in Ondo – Rivers Govt

The Rivers State Government has issued a statement saying its governor, Rotimi Amaechi has been arrested and being held hostage by security operatives in Odud, Ondo state.

The governor, the statement said he was arrested as he made his way to Ado-Ekiti for a political rally by his Ekiti state counter part, Kayode Fayemi.

Whereas Governor Amaechi Rotimi wrote on twitter that:

" He was stopped from Ekiti, this convoy which I learnt had two serving ministers was given a free pass into Ekiti".
