Clement, the chairman of the National Publicity Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has confirmed that the body has called off its 10 month-old-strike.
The strike which began in October last year, was suspended during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union held on Saturday morning. The Chairman said all striking lecturers have been asked to resume work on Tuesday 15th July 2014.
These new developments came in just days after Ibrahim Shekarau was sworn in as Minister of Education and he held a 'fruitful' meeting with the ASUP leadership.
