Two explosive devices planted at Living Faith Church detonated by Bomb Squad in Owerri

Church worshipers of Living Faith Church Owerri escape death as police uncovers bomb threat.

The Police in Imo state have already made an arrest of six suspects with links related to the discovery of the two Improvised Explosive Devices in Living Faith a.k.a Winners Chapel church in Owerri in the early hours of Sunday 15th June 2014, the Commissioner of Police, Abdumajid Ali said. According to him the command was alerted about the strange objects in the church compound...
''We were alerted that some devices were seen in the church and immediately we deployed our anti-bomb squad squad. We are happy that the squad immediately detonated the bomb on arrival and six persons have been arrested so far'' he said.
"During their check, it was discovered that the Improvised Explosive Devices in forms of refrigerator compressor concealed in sack bags were discovered," Mr Enwerem said. "One promptly detonated at the scene because it was on a timer. The other one was dis-alarmed and the then taken away for detonation at a far distance form the scene.
Ali said the command would do everything posible to unravel the perpetrators of the act. He urged the people to go about their normal activities as the two IEDs have been detonated.
