DELSU Graduate Demands N12m Damages After Missing Out On NYSC For The Third Time

A Student is seeking 12 million naira damages from her alma mater after she was refused clearance for the compulsory National Youth Service...



While many graduates are battling to have their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), postings changed, a graduate of Delta State University (DELSU) has turned to the courts as she seeks to serve her nation.
Miss Madamedon Endurance. A, sued her alma mater for failing for the third time to mobilize her for the compulsory one year National Youth Service.
She is now seeking damages of 12 million naira from the Institution "after being denied for thress consecutive batches between 2012 and 2013 despite being listed for the programme".
Madamedon's lawyer, F.J Atie, in a Suit No. Hel/24/2014 filed on her behalf at the High Court of Delta State of Nigeria in the Isiokolo Judicial Division Holden at Isiokolo, is asking the court to compel the first and seconds defendants, DELSU and the Vice chancellor of the institution, Professor Eric Arubayi, to clear her for mobilization.
DELSU has been issued a notice but the institution's Public Relations Officer, Mr Edward Agbure, has reportedly denied knowledge of the suit.
